17-4 PH Stainless Steel, also known as UNS S17400, AISI 630, Type 630, or 1.4542 stainless steel, is a precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel developed for applications that require a balanced combination of high strength, good corrosion resistance, and reliable mechanical performance. The alloy design is based on a careful balance of chromium, nickel, copper, and niobium.
